WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CONTRACT PACKAGING & PACKING ?

PACKAGING: refers to the initial unit of issue . Essentially the first wrap, bag or carton that completes a unit for sale or distribution. It starts with 1 each per wrap but can be an 8 oz bag or a multi-pack case , depending on the clients needs.

PACKING: refers to the consolidation of packages into a final shipment configuration. This can be a small UPS final carton or a Club Store Pallet Display. In the export and defense world it could even be a heavy duty crate containing a 10,000 lb machine destined for the Philippines.

Contract packaging services:

Shrink wrapping: This method is used to efficiently group products into a tight value added promotion or for tamper evidence. Regardless, we are experts at choosing the correct method and film . Different types of poly wraps will provide a wide variety of clarity and security . We can direct you to the appropriate solution.

We have several high speed wrappers with long conveyor in-feeds & many semi -automatic L bar sealers for short run custom projects. Regardless of the task we can shrink it. Poly Bundling in clear and printed film: Poly bundling is most often associated with Big Box Retailing . It's normally used to create pallet displays for beverages and can goods . This is an efficient low cost solution because it can utilize the manufacturers original tray or case . Our 60 foot line is configured to run both clear and printed poly. Over wrapping ( also known as horizontal flow wrapping): This is a low cost effective method for containing or consolidating small flat items that can be easily pin fed. Ideal for phone cards , candy bars ,samples , test kits and printed literature . ActionPak has high speed wrappers that can run over 120 pkgs per minute, in both clear and print registered films . Carton Filling & Assembly Services: On the surface this is simply placing items into a carton. But like most things in life they become more complex as the task becomes larger. We start with doing the short run hand assembly work , i.e. placing components into a corrugated boxes and taping it closed . But, we also have high speed retail carton formers that automatically set up, ink jet mark and glue flap cartons closed . These are ideal for variety packs.
Example: Recently a client came to us to update an old fashioned retail sleeve wrap of micro-wave bowls. From the start we knew this product belonged in a bright colorful chipboard retail carton. CONTRACT PACKING SERVICES

Palletize & Consolidation: If your looking for an East coast consolidation point to assemble or palletize loads coming into the country, look no further. We are close to the major club store distribution points. An ideal location for receiving containers . Example : One of our clients imported several containers of Olives for the Club stores. We stripped the containers and created pallet displays for re-sale, all within a one week window.

Export Packing: ActionPak will box , crate , palletize , mark and protect your product for safe delivery to any part of the world. We are specialists in handling electronics , machine parts and high technology equipment.

Do you need a place to consolidate goods on the East Coast? We also do export containerization. Use us as a consolidation point for overseas projects . We will work with or introduce you to a freight forwarder to efficiently get your products delivered safely and on time to any market.
